PHARMACY MUSEUM + TEA TIN GIFT

Description

The Porto Pharmacy Museum presents a unique collection spanning more than 5,000 years of the history of health and disease, bringing together objects of remarkable historical, artistic, anthropological and scientific value. The collection includes pieces from a wide range of civilizations and periods — from Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt to Greece and Rome, from pre-Columbian cultures to Asia, Africa, the Islamic world and modern Europe — offering a comprehensive view of how healthcare evolved throughout history.

The museum also highlights Portuguese pharmaceutical heritage, with special emphasis on the meticulous reconstruction of the historic Farmácia Estácio do Porto, originally located on Rua Sá da Bandeira, preserved as one of the institution’s most iconic exhibition areas.

A visit that blends science, history and culture, ideal for those wishing to explore the evolution of healthcare practices and the role of pharmacy in society.
